Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, New Delhi has sanctioned Farm Machinery Testing Centers at SAU’s including MPKV, Rahuri as one of the Farm Machinery Testing Centre. The centre is having well equipped Farm Machinery Testing Laboratory. Sophisticated instruments available with the centre are listed below.

Farm Machinery Production Workshop

The main objective of prototype manufacturing works activity is to make the improved implements available to the farmers. Such an activity, therefore, is of prime importance for technology transfer and popularization. The improved implements are supplied to the different institutions, organizations and farmers and feedback from the users was received which help in making design modifications in prototypes. The centre is having Farm Machinery Production Workshop for manufacturing of agricultural implements and hand tools etc. Production machinery available with the centre are listed below-

Farm Machinery Museum-cum-Training Hall

Farm Machinery Museum-cum-Training Hall is helpful in dissemination of information on improved farm implements and machinery to the farmers. Farmers are getting educated and information on the efficient and judicious use of the improved farm implements and machinery along with their capacity building.

Training activity

• Training to extension agencies, farmers, rural artisans and other beneficiaries and
entrepreneurs etc. on operation, maintenance and repair of farm machineries.
• Training programmes on agricultural implements production workshop machinery for rural
artisans, agricultural implements manufacturers and entrepreneurs etc.
